Absence

If a child is prevented from attending school because of sickness or other unavoidable cause it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to notify the school of the pupils absence.

For children’s security we ask that parents notify us by a telephone call before 10.00am.

We will contact parents by telephone of the first morning of an unnotified absence.

Parents do not have the right to take children out of school for a holiday during term time.  Suffolk Local Authority does not support term time holidays other that in the most exceptional circumstances.  Holidays taken without permission will be recorded as unauthorised. If you are only able to take a holiday in term time, e.g. agricultural workers, please provide a note from your employer confirming that this is the only time you can take.

Please note that Children in years 2, 3 and 4 will be undertaking SAT assessments in the first half of the Summer Term and absence during May should be avoided.
